The Float Trip is the most popular among our regular guests.  If we had to choose one trip as a favorite, it would be without hesitation, the full day Float Trip for Trout or Smallmouth Bass.  No other trip allows you to access over 100 miles of river that is not accessible by foot.  However, many of our guests enjoy jumping out of the boat for a quick wading opportunity, especially while we prepare a gourmet shore lunch.  That means fewer people, less pressure and better fishing.  Aside from the fishing, our guests enjoy the natural beauty where mountains and canyons meet wide waters with bald eagles, wild fish, and king fishers.

  •  If you are interested in Smallmouth Bass, one of our most popular trips takes you through the famous Biltmore Estate down the French Broad River ending in Asheville’s River Arts District, a hotspot for shopping, food and craft beers.
  • If you are interested in Trout, our most popular trip takes you to one of the East Tennessee Tailwaters for a chance at the fish of a lifetime.
  • Full Day Float ~  4 - 10 mi. of water
  • Half Day Float ~ 2 - 4 mi. of water

SMALLMOUTH BASS TRIPS

Smallmouth Bass fishing in the Southern Appalachian Mountains is renowned as some of the best on the continent.  We target these fish on our float trips on the fly and with tackle.  If you enjoy a tenacious pull from the surface and seeing acrobatic fish dance, then this is for you.  Casting top water flies 30-80 feet on big water, followed by an explosion that sounds like a bomb going off, will do a few things to a person.  One, it will make your wrist hurt; two, it will make you giggle like a little kid.  You will talk to the water, laugh louder than all the banjos playing in Western North Carolina, and want to cancel all obligations for the following week.  To get in on the fun…

trout TRIPS

Many of our clients that fish the big waters of Alaska, Montana, Idaho and other fishy places west of the Mississippi love the tailwaters in our area.  These large flowing rivers have been recognized as some of the best in the Southeast.  These waters are ideal for letting some line out if you are not in the mood to roll cast under a canopy of rhododendron found on our smaller waters.  The rivers we frequent offer anglers the opportunity to sight fish in an array of conditions and settings using dry flies and nymphs or throwing streamers for trophy Brown Trout.  Because these rivers are bug factories, the fish can be selective feeders.  Our guides have spent countless days on these waters guiding guests of all ages and experience levels.  With our help, you’ll be on your way to a heightened experience, more fish in the net, and hopefully at least a few memories that last a lifetime.
